Thomas K. Jackson Military Endorsement T4

Military Endorsement "Thomas K. Jackson Capt. CSA" T4 $50 1861 PF-2 Cr. 4 PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.
Bearing serial number 915, this note was part of a second shipment of 1,000 sheets of 50-100 notes that was almost intercepted by Federal authorities in New York harbor in April, 1861. This note features a pre-war vignette titled Slaves Hoeing Cotton that was also used on several pre-war state bank notes. It has an issue endorsement of Capt. Thomas K. Jackson, who was serving at the time (July 15, 1861) under General Wise's command at Lynchburg, VA. An attractive note with a clear military endorsement and great visual appeal.
