Fr. 334 $50 1891 Silver Certificate PCGS Gem New 66.
The 1891 Series of the $50 Silver Certificate has a vignette of Edward Everett at right, a small, scalloped red seal, and blue serial numbers. The back of the 1891 Series was changed from a black back to a green back with more open space and no black lettering. The contrast of colors throughout the note is vibrant, the paper original, and the details in the engraving very precise. With 48 surviving examples, the Fr. 334 is a nice rarity in its own right, compounded here by the Gem grade. This offering would lift the overall quality and appeal of even the most advanced collections.
