Ashland, WI - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 469 The Northern National
Bank Ch. # 3607 PMG Very Fine 20.An old friend, this piece first appeared on the market in our 2004 Central States Auction. It bears a wonderfully ornate "circus poster" title layout found only on a handful of the earliest $5 Brown Backs printed. It was also a highlight of the late Bob Cochran's collection of $5 Brown Backs. This nicely margined piece displays even wear and excellent color for the grade.
