Description

Ex - Schermerhorn Petaluma $10 National Gold Bank Note

Petaluma, CA - $10 1875 Fr. 1150 The First National Gold Bank Ch. # 2193 PMG Choice Fine 15.
An attractive, moderately circulated example of this popular National Gold Bank Note, this is one of just six 1875 $10s reported from this Petaluma bank, according to the National Currency Foundation census. However, of that half dozen, one is laminated and another has been graded as "Poor." This offering, which was once part of the Robert Schermerhorn collection and which bears low serial number 72, has a few minor repairs and pinholes but remains quite attractive for the grade with good color, dark signatures, and, on the back, a clear Gold Coin Vignette. Last year, we sold another PMG Fine 15 example, albeit without any comments on the holder, for $21,000.
