Bennettsville, SC - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The Planters National Bank
Ch. # 6385 PMG Very Fine 20.Available in large size, this Marlboro County bank is downright rare in small size, undoubtedly due to the fact that it liquidated in March of 1930 and became part of the state-chartered Peoples State Bank of South Carolina, an institution that itself failed two years later. Just five Series 1929 examples are reported from this charter, including this offering which is the only $20 in the census. Bearing low serial number F000010A, it exhibits just plenty of honest wear.
