Description

Le Sueur Minnesota Serial Number 1 Red Seal

Le Sueur, MN - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 613 The First NB Ch. # (M)7199
The First National Bank of Le Sueur was the only bank in this town, the namesake of its county. It operated from 1904 to 1933, but at close, the Treasury indicated a paltry $750 in large size outstanding. Four large size notes are enumerated in the census, just two of which have been offered at auction. This note is from the first sheet of $10-$10-$10-$20 Red Seals released, and bears the blue serial number 1 and lower left. It is a bank rarity that survived solely because of its serial number. PMG Very Fine 20 Net, due to some minor repairs.
