Description
Courtesy Autograph Fr. 1603 $1 1928C Silver Certificate. PCGS Banknote Gem Unc 66 PPQ.A lovely example autographed by Secretary of the Treasury W.H. Woodin above his printed signature. Woodin courtesy autographs on currency are very scarce, as he served as FDR's first Secretary of the Treasury for only nine months before he resigned due to health reasons at the end of 1933. He lived only four more months before passing away in May of 1934. The only other example we have auctioned was The Tabacco Family Collection note. That PCGS Choice Unc 64 PPQ realized $3,600 in 2021. We believe this evening's offering may be superior in quality.
