Excessively Rare Patchogue Large Size
Patchogue, NY - $5 1902 Date Back Fr. 590 The Citizens National
Bank Ch. # (E)6785 PCGS Banknote Extremely Fine 40 Details.A wonderful Long Island note, this is one of only two pieces reported for this short-lived charter that was only in business from 1903 until 1916. As Patchogue's other national bank only issued small size, tonight's offering presents the only realistic opportunity to acquire a large size note from this South Shore community. The reason is that the other known large note from this charter, a Serial Number 1 Red Seal, is housed in a long-term holding that may not be on the market for decades, if ever. This offering is a bright, well embossed Date Back with sharp ink colors and just repaired pinholes in the left margin which affect nothing.
