Onancock, VA - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 4940 PMG Very Fine 30.It has been six years since any note, large or small, has been available from this small eastern shore bank, and more than twenty years since a nicer example has been offered to collectors. This piece, which is newly discovered and offered here for the first time, displays bright white paper, a vivid overprint, and great eye appeal. Virginia historians credit Captain John Smith with noting Onancock was "the gem of the eastern shore" back in the 1600s and this "gem" from Onancock is certain to please.
