Description

New Braunfels, TX - $100 1929 Ty. 2 The First National Bank Ch. # 4295 PMG Very Fine 25.
For reasons unknown, this bank, which issued $10 and $20 notes throughout its nearly forty year history through 1929, elected not to issue small notes until the very depths of the Depression in 1933, when they opted to order Series 1929 Type 2 hundreds as their sole small size issue. While a number of survivors exist, they are, like any Type 2 $100, quite scarce and seldom seen. This is one of just a dozen or so pieces reported and it exhibits just even wear.
