Description

Unique in Small Size - One of Two Known for the Bank

Lamesa, TX - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 11163 PMG Very Fine 30 EPQ.
This West Texas community is one of the rarest of all Texas towns, represented by a single large note, which was once part of the J.L. Irish and Steve Ivy collections and last on the market in a 2005 auction, and a single small size example, which is the note we are pleased to offer this evening. It made its last public appearance in our 2011 Central States auction, and is now available once again for one fortunate collector to enjoy. It is a bright and original $20 with just even wear. This issuer was the only bank in Lamesa, and Lamesa was the sole issuing location in remote Dawson County, so the buyer of this note gets to cover a bank, a town, and a county.
