Holly Hill, SC - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. #
10680 PMG Choice Fine 15.An excessively rare note from this one bank Palmetto State location that has always been on the want lists of South Carolina collectors. The note we are pleased to offer tonight is one of just four small size reported, (along with two large). Issuing just the $10 denomination after opening in 1915, this small issuer, unlike many of its counterparts, survived the Great Depression and had just $25,000 overall outstanding in 1935. Tonight's offering is an evenly circulated and problem free Type 1 $10 with solid paper for the grade. For comparison purposes, we auctioned the only Type 2 example reported from this bank, in a PMG Very Fine 20 holder, which realized $10,800 in our 2020 FUN auction.
