Mineola, NY - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The Central NB Ch. #
13404 Uncut Sheet PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.A gorgeous all serial number 1 uncut sheet from this Nassau County bank that appears to have rolled off the press this morning. Carefully preserved over the years, the sheet is fresh and bright with no evidence of handling whatsoever. This Mineola bank was a small-size only affair as it did not open its doors until 1929. For many years, this sheet, and its number 1 $5 counterpart, were listed in the census but had never publicly appeared. Finally, we sold the $5 sheet in our May 1999 auction and, subsequently, it was quickly cut. The individual notes from the $5 sheet made several auction appearances between 2000 and 2006 but none have been available since that time. Therefore, the offering of this $10 sheet is the first instance of a number 1 note from Mineola appearing in the public domain in over a dozen years.
