Helena, MT - $10 1875 Fr. 422 The Merchants NB Ch. # 2732 PMG Choice Fine 15.An extremely rare Montana state issue First Charter example from a bank which issued only Territorial and state issue First Charters before bowing out in 1897. No Territorials are known from the bank, and the latest census lists just two state notes - a 1875 $20 that last appeared on the market almost five years ago and this $10 which has been off the market since we sold it in September of 2003. It is an evenly circulated and solid note with just a few light stains noted by PMG. A great Montana rarity worth whatever it takes to bring it home tonight.
