Description

Newly Discovered and Unique for the Bank

Laurel, MS - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 613 The Laurel NB Ch. # (S)6923 PMG Fine 12.
A great note from an obscure Mississippi bank that issued Red Seals only during its brief existence from 1903 to 1905. During that brief two-year period, the bank released only 741 sheets of $10 and $20 Red Seals, none of which had ever been reported until this evening. This example, which we are pleased to offer, becomes the first and only specimen known from here. It is an attractive piece which, although circulated, is appealing and problem free, with good color and sharp pen signatures. Combine the demand for rare Nationals with the number of serious collectors of trophy items, and our estimate may well prove conservative.
