Rare Wallins Creek Series 1929 Note One of Two Reported

Wallins Creek, KY - $5 1929 Ty. 1 The Wallins National Bank Ch. # 12202 PMG Very Fine 20.
This great Kentucky rarity hails from an obscure one-bank Harlan County location. It represents a short-lived issuer that was only in business from 1922 until 1930 and which had a total outstanding circulation of just $8,260 at its closure. One of just two small size reported, it made its last public appearance in our 2011 FUN auction. It is a well circulated but intact $5 with just some minor staining.
