Valdosta, GA - $5 1882 Date Back Fr. 532 The First National Bank
Ch. # (S)4429 PMG Very Fine 25.Another spectacular Georgia note that is one of only two Serial Number 1 1882 $5 Date Backs reported for the state and one of just 22 Number 1 1882 $5 Date Backs in the census for the entire country. Both Number 1 notes from Georgia are from this Valdosta bank, but the other reported example, from the "G" plate position, is only an impaired Very Good. That is not the case here as this "F" position note, which is crossing the auction block for the first time, is a pleasing mid-grade example with great color and signatures along with only problem free wear. This is a quite appealing Number 1 note fit for the finest of collections.
