Worcester, MA - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 466 The First National Bank Ch. # 2699 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30.An attractive $5 Brown Back from the successor bank to the original First National in town, Charter 79, which was forced to liquidate in 1882 before Congress enacted legislation to allow National Banks to extend their charters. The new charter is a rather scarce bank with this offering just the sixth piece to be reported from this institution, all representing this type and denomination. It is a nice one with even wear, pleasing color, and bold signatures, one signed and one stamped.
