Carbondale, IL - $10 1882 Date Back Fr. 540 The First National Bank Ch. # (M)4904 PMG Very Fine 25.A very scarce bank that operated in this coal mining community from 1893 until closing in 1924. Only a dozen notes are reported including this 1882 $10 Date Back that is one of only two examples of this type and denomination in the census. Last appearing on the market in a 1999 auction, it is evenly circulated and problem free with bold ink colors and dark stamped signatures.
