Description

Excessively Rare San Francisco Red Seal

San Francisco, CA - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 613 The United States National Bank Ch. # (P)7691 PMG Very Fine 30.
This offering is a lovely example from one of San Francisco's rarest banks. This charter, which bears a great "forbidden title," was only in business from 1904 until 1908. Today, just four notes - all Red Seals - are reported, including this $10 which is making its first public appearance. It is a bright, well margined note with a vivid red overprint and dark printed signatures. In our recent FUN auction, a $5 Red Seal from this bank, in a PMG Fine 15 holder, realized $6,600.
