Description

Richmond, VA- J.D. Edwards 25¢ July 14, 1862 Jones-Littlefield PR60-291 PMG Fine 12.
This variety lists Edwards' affiliation with the Eighth Brigade. The Eighth Brigade of the Army of Northern Virginia was composed of Louisiana infantry units 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and later the 5th. Brigadier General Richard Taylor, son of the late President, commanded them for a time. Jones rates this variety as an R-7 rarity, suggesting an estimated surviving population of 2-4 notes for this variety. While PMG mentions that the note has been repaired, the repair is not glaringly obvious.
