Description

Unique for the Bank and Town

Colusa, CA - $20 1902 Date Back Fr. 646 The First National Bank Ch. # (P)10072 PMG Very Fine 20.
This wonderful rarity is the only note known from northern California's Colusa County. This community's sole issuer was only in business from 1911 until 1922 and issued just a handful of 1902 Date Backs and Plain Backs before the receiver arrived to close the doors. This offering traces its provenance to John Hickman's sale of The Philip Krakover Collection in 1990 and has been in our consignor's hands since that time. A crisp, moderately circulated $20 displaying just honest wear, it provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity for one fortunate bidder to finally acquire this rare charter.
