Description

"Issued at Tullahoma, TN" T39 $100 1862 PF-13 Cr. 294 PMG Very Fine 30.
This note was issued at Tullahoma, TN on May 19, 1863. This was during the time when Tullahoma served as the location for General Braxton Bragg's Army of Tennessee headquarters. As a result of losing the Tullahoma Campaign (June 24 - July 3, 1863) Bragg was forced to give up the town. This example has a couple of edge irregularities along the bottom margin that do not intrude into the printed portions of the design, thanks to a large bottom margin, as well as a short edge tear at top left. This marks the third example that we have offered that was issued at Tullahoma.
