 Houston, TX- Consolidated Fund of Texas $5,000 Mar. 1, 1839 Cr.
CF6A Medlar UNL PCGS Banknote Uncirulated 62.This $5,000 certificate, datelined Houston, March 1, 1839, was payable to McKinney & Williams, the Galveston commission merchant firm that had provided significant financial support for the Texas Revolution and was subsequently given authority, as a private business, to issue scrip. This example, which is cut canceled, as are most, is well printed on bright paper with clear design details and handwritten information. Shull estimates that there are only 5-15 surviving examples.
