Scarce Grass Valley Large Size - First Public Offering Since 2010
Grass Valley, CA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 609 First National
Bank Ch. # 12433 PMG Very Fine 25.While somewhat available in small size, this northern California bank has been virtually unobtainable in large in recent years. Although nine pieces are listed in the National Currency Foundation census, none have made a public appearance since a 2010 auction. This $5 is a bright, well printed example that features excellent color and bold stamped signatures. Its only flaw is a small rust hole near the center of the note.
