Boston, MA- Massachusetts Bank $1-$1-$2-$2 18__ as G56-G56-G98-G98 Uncut Proof Sheet PMG About Uncirculated 55 Net.
The bank was a long-lived concern, being in business from 1784 until 1865 when it became the Massachusetts National Bank of Boston. The $1s feature a Native American male seated at center with oval cameo-like medallion head 1 counters in each corner. The $2s have a center vignette of several sailing vessels with cameo-like medallion heads in each corner. The sheet is printed on India paper mounted on cardstock with PMG mentioning a large tear. There was one sheet in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale. This sheet was formerly part of The Tom Denly Collection.
