Scarce and Attractive 1928 $5,000

Fr. 2220-F $5,000 1928 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
Series 1928 $5,000s were printed for only nine of the twelve Federal Reserve Banks, and today, only about twenty survivors are known from all districts combined. This scant total is not surprising, as the print runs were tiny compared to most 20th century printing totals, with just 1,440 notes printed and released through the Atlanta District. This offering is one of those Atlanta survivors. It is well centered with bright paper and sharp ink colors. PMG has commented about a minor restoration, but any such repair is not readily discernible on this pleasing mid-grade high denomination note.
