Solid Serial Number 99999999 Fr. 236 $1 1899 Silver Certificate PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.A simply lovely R-A block Black Eagle that is greatly enhanced by the eight-digit solid serial number of 99999999. The first appearance of this note at auction that we can find was at the 1968 ANA Abe Kosoff Auction. The note has bold embossing that can be clearly observed through the third party holder. Solid serial numbers always cause a stir, with solid 9s having the most competition. That was proven once again at our January 2004 FUN Auction, where this exact note realized $10,350.
