Fr. 1214 $100 1882 Gold Certificate PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.Back in September of 2011 we described this note, "According to recent PCGS population numbers, this is one of just four notes graded by PCGS at this lofty level with none higher. The quality of this note is breathtaking with full margins and deep colors on deeply embossed bright paper. With over 300 examples listed in Track & Price, not many can compare in beauty to this piece. Our estimate here may well prove conservative after the hammer falls." It realized $21,850 that evening and should sell for more here tonight as current PCGS data is unchanged from five years ago.
