Chicago, IL - $5-$5-$5-$5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 608 The Douglass NB Ch. # 12227 Uncut SheetWe are fortunate that in this auction we have uncut sheets on both African American-owned National Banks from this era (the other bank is the Dunbar National Bank of New York). The Chicago bank was named for famed abolitionist Frederick Douglass. This beautiful sheet shows no evidence of folds, but does feature vibrant color and deep, original embossing. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ, and certainly one of the finest large size sheets still in existence today.
