The Traders Bank of the City of Richmond was only is existence from 1860 until the bank building was destroyed in 1865 during the burning of Richmond. An attractive green and black note, this example was well printed. The central vignette is unofficially titled Groom Saddling a Horse. The vignette at lower right is known as Boy & Birds Nest and was engraved by James Bannister. That image also appears on notes from other banks, including $10 notes from the Egg Harbor Bank of Egg Harbor, NJ. This lovely note is graded PMG About Uncirculated 55.
