Orlando, FL - $10 1902 Date Back Fr. 620 The Peoples NB Ch. # (S)10069This unique note was one of the last additions to the Sunshine State Collection, having been acquired from our January, 2007 FUN sale, where it was described as follows: "A wonderful new discovery which is offered for the first time in this sale to the collecting fraternity. This is the only note known with the first title used by this bank, which was employed by this institution for less than nine years. It represents a rare opportunity for the many collectors of Florida National Bank Notes to add something truly unique to their collections, and for likely considerably less money than the $120,000 plus the last item from a unique Florida bank realized. Very Good-Fine, a great item which is likely to see bidding reach or exceed $30,000-40,000." It realized a hair under $30,000 in that offering, and, just as unique today and now ensconced in a PMG holder grading Very Good 10, should bring that or even a bit more tonight.
