Description

Joseph I. Pease engraving after a painting by Felix O.C. Darley of the Battle of Lexington that adorned the face of First and Second Charter $20 National Bank Notes. This vignette depicts four Minutemen and a woman attending their fallen comrade. It measures approximately two and one-half inches in either direction on India paper mounted on card. Pencil notations indicate the currency use of this image. Both vignette and card are in excellent condition.
