    Description

    BC-28 $1000 1937
This denomination, although part of the 1937 series, was not released until January of 1952, having been kept in the reserve stockpile of the Bank of Canada over the years, as indicated by the Osborne-Towers signatures, the only ones employed for this denomination. The colors here are as vivid as on any $1000 we have ever seen, and low serial number 0000131 comes as a bonus. Lovely PMG graded Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ, as nice as the Flynn collection specimen which realized $17,250 in April of last year.
