Spain Banco de Espana 50 Pesetas 1.1.1878 Pick 14 PMG
Choice Very Fine 35.Extant banknotes from the 1878 series are quite rare and seldom seen, and as such, are missing from most collections. In fact, auction tracking records indicate that only one issued example from the entire 1878 series has been offered publicly; that was in 2016. That example was also a 50 Pesetas, but in far inferior grade. Only mild, standard circulation is observed through the third party holder. At the time of cataloging, this is the only example graded in the PMG Population Report. These 1878 50 Pesetas notes are so scarce because they were actually issued in 1882 and withdrawn only two years later. The winning bidder will be the envy of his peers upon acquiring this seriously rare type.
