Serial Number 1 Curacao Curacaosche Bank 500 Gulden 1925 Pick 14 PMG About Uncirculated 55.
A long line of superlatives can be used to describe this utterly spectacular offering, but frankly, the note speaks for itself. It is the first serial number of the highest denomination of the 1925 series. Only 1000 notes were printed and issued, and all but 2 examples have been redeemed. This is the lone example graded in the PMG Population Report at the time of cataloging, and that number can only increase by one if the Curacaosche Bank records are correct. This note is not overprinted or cancelled in any way. Minor staining is mentioned for accuracy. Arguably the rarest issued world banknote we have ever offered, as it is one of only two extant examples. The crowning banknote of the 1925 Serial Number 1 series offered in today's sale.
