Dollars 2.1.1872 PEI-18 Pick S156 Cancelled PMG Very Fine
25.Although Prince Edward Island sent representatives to the first Canadian Confederation Conference in 1864, it did not join the Confederation itself until 1873. This Colonial Government type was issued just one year before its unity with Canada. During the same time frame, issues from The Bank of Prince Edward Island and the Farmers Bank of Rustico also circulated on the island, but it seems that Government issues are the scarcest. We have not offered this type in the past. The small serial number on this note could suggest how few were actually issued in the year that led up to union with the Confederation. Red ink cancellations are seen atop circulated, problem-free paper. An important note worthy of consideration, as this note appeals to many collections in a variety of fields.
