HSBC's first series of banknotes was issued in 1865, during its inaugural year of operations. In the following decades, many beautiful and interesting banknotes have been issued and many older emissions are very rare today. This example, for instance, is famously rare, and to date, PMG has graded a mere five examples across all known dates from 1893 to 1898. Some rust spotting and notations are mentioned for accuracy, but otherwise, this is example is amazing. Good colors, strong ink, and a bold manuscript signature are all noted. Extremely rare and an important offering.

1893年香港上海滙豐銀行拾圓。PMG Choice Fine 15。
匯豐銀行首套鈔票發行於1865年，正值開業之年。在隨後的數十年，華美悅目、趣味十足的鈔票不斷推陳出新，而古舊的品種在今天則成了鳳毛麟角般的珍品。以此鈔為例，則向來以稀罕難得而為人所知。截至目前為止，出自1893至1898年的鈔票在PMG的記錄中僅見五例。票面雖帶有若干鏽點和批注，但仍足以令人驚艷萬分。其上佳色澤、深峻墨印和鮮明簽署仍一覽無遺，可謂舉足輕重的極罕珍品。
