    Description

Finest PMG Graded High Denomination Issue

Haiti Banque Nationale de la Republique d'Haiti 10 Gourdes 1919 (1920-24) Pick 153a.
The highest denomination of the Banana Tree series, which was only issued once during the series of 1920-24 with the Convention 02.05.1919. Superior colors are seen on this American Bank Note Company designed and printed note, with the first A prefix. Though this series, and the series before and series after were all issued during the US occupation of Haiti, it is not clear why this series was quickly replaced. This example is the sole finest out of only two issued notes in the PMG Census. PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.
