About New Ming Dynasty Note

China Empire Ming Dynasty 1 Kuan ND (1368-99) Pick AA10.
Quite simply, the highest graded example we have handled, and tied among the highest graded of this example. The inks are bold and sharp, with the vermillion stamps on both sides still fully colored. These early banknotes were printed on relatively soft and weak mulberry paper colored with charcoal, and thus did not hold up well to handling. This example with any signs of circulation well hidden in the design has the appeal of being fresh off the press. PCGS Choice About New 55.
