    Description

Canada Bank of Canada $50 1954 BC-34a "Devil's Face" PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
A gorgeous high grade example, this note features the "Devil's Face" design in the hair of Queen Elizabeth II, which was an honest and unintended consequence of the design. After this series was released in 1954, the public began to notice what they saw as a grinning demon in the portrait. The Bank of Canada acknowledged the design flaw and readjusted the hair in a modified version of the note which was released in 1956. Very desirable in this condition. From the Adem Karisik Collection of Canada
