    Russell Sage - Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railway Company (Missouri)
    An 1880 dated certificate for 100 shares in green, issued to and signed on the verso by Russell Sage, a banker, financier and Congressman, who originated the hedging mechanism of put and call options. He financed financial manipulator Jay Gould and at the time of his death in 1906 left a fortune estimated at $70,000,000. Russell Sage College in Troy, NY is named in his honor. Very Fine with punch and stamp cancellations not affecting his signature.
