    A certificate for two shares. Black. Lithographed. Signed by Oliver Ames as President. Oliver was the brother of Oakes Ames and involved with him in the infamous Credit Mobilier scandal. He served as acting President of the Union Pacific Rail Road 1866-68, succeeding John A. Dix as Director until his death in 1877. In his own era few men were better known in the industrial world.
