Late Finished Plate 86 Fr. 2309 $10 1934A North Africa Silver Certificate. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.Engraving of face plate number 86 was started on January 21, 1938 during the micro plate number era. Next it was stored in the plate vault until being rediscovered in 1940. Plate 86 was then finished with a macro face plate number instead of a micro face plate number on May 29, 1940. It was used on the presses from July 18, 1940 to June 29, 1944. Since it was started during the micro plate number era, it should have had a micro size plate number. This B-A block note is the highest-graded example of this variety to find its way to our auctions. We also see from our consignor's inventory that this delightful note was also once part of the Amon Carter Collection.
