$20 1934A Hawaii-Tied for Finest Known
Fr. 2305 $20 1934A Hawaii Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ.A note which is not rare through the 65 grade, but becomes prohibitively scarce at the very highest grade ranges. PMG has graded only three 1934A Hawaii twenties in 67, with none higher, and PCGS has graded only six examples in 67, with none higher. After viewing this note, with its perfect centering and screaming originality, it would be hard to imagine that any finer example might exist. Track & Price has recorded only three sales of any third party graded 67 since 2006, with the last, in 2010, realizing just under $5,000. It would not surprise us at all to see this beauty easily reach and likely top that mark this afternoon.
