Description

    Near Gem $10 Hawaii Star

Fr. 2303* $10 1934A Hawaii Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.
This note recently was offered as part of the Jeffrey S. Jones Collection of Small Size Currency back in April of last year, where it was described, "While circulated $10 Hawaii stars are hardly rare, Uncirculated examples are almost impossible to obtain. To date, PMG has graded only two such notes, a single 63 and a lone 64E, while PCGS has graded four, a 63P, a 64P, a 65 no P, and a 66P. Track & Price shows only the 63P and the 65 no P having appeared since 2005, with each realizing an almost identical figure between $17,625 and $18,800, with none selling since January of 2014. We will be consistent here in our estimate for this beautifully embossed and fully original note, and come in at." On an estimate of $17,500-$22,500, this lovely piece catapulted to a final price of $28,200. Our revised estimate will more closely reflect this new valuation.

    Estimate: $25,000 - $35,000.
