Description

Gorgeous Non-Mule 1934 Hawaii $5 Star

Fr. 2301* $5 1934 Hawaii Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.
The 1934 Hawaii $5 non-Mule star is a very scarce note in all grades and a prohibitively rare one in all grades above About Uncirculated. PMG has graded only two uncirculated examples, a 64 and a 65E, and PCGS has graded only two as well, a single 62 and this 64PPQ. This piece is strikingly original, with great embossing and incredible eye appeal, and is certain to delight its fortunate new owner. Track & Price reports that the sole appearance of any uncirculated example came back in 2008, when we sold the Flynn specimen, which was the PMG 64 referred to above, for $34,500. Expect an even higher realization for this rarity by the time the hammer falls this evening.
