Description

1935-A $1 Hawaii Silver Certificate, Fr-2300, Gem CU. Just a wonderful piece of Emergency Currency from the SC block. This is a well embossed and broadly margined note where the paper is crisp and fresh. Gem quality Hawaii notes are very difficult to come by and should command a premium as such. These notes were created in the event that the Japanese overran the islands so the US government would be able to render the bills obsolete. This is probably the closest the United States government would have come to demonetizing any of its currency.
