"King of the $10 Silvers" 1933 Serial 111 PCGS 64PPPQ

Fr. 1700 $10 1933 Silver Certificate. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.
One of the most important Friedberg numbers for the small size collector due to its rarity and numismatic significance as it is the only note with the, "Payable in silver coin to bearer on demand" clause. It is also a Friedberg number that all newly minted small size collectors soon realize is the key note in their specialty and also the most desired. Many Fr. 1700 notes come with low and/or fancy serial numbers. This example has both a low and a fancy serial number as it is blessed with serial A00000111A. Many of the low and fancy serials have a provenance that goes back to collectors George Blake and Colonel E.H.R. Green. This piece has also been well preserved and sports ideal color and paper originality that includes very bold embossing of both serial numbers and the Treasury Seal. Our current offering is certainly a premium note for the grade. The last 1933 $10 Silver that we offered at this third party grade was a PMG 64 with the comment on the back label of, "Great embossing." It went for $30,550 in January 2017. One can look forward to at least more of the same once again in order to bring this great note home.
