    Fr. 1604* $1 1928D Silver Certificate. PCGS Very Fine 30PPQ.
    This is a truly rare star in any grade, with the number of offerings of this key piece nearly on par with the far more celebrated and much more expensive 1928E Silver star. We have had about ten 1928D $1 star Silvers to offer in our auctions during the past eight years as compared to six 1928E stars and nine 1928C stars. This is a nice, well embossed, lightly circulated piece with no problems. It certainly is a welcome addition to the surviving population and may well be the finest circulated example known.
